TLETS/NLETS Basic Procedures September 19 21, 2011

The Texas Law Enforcement Telecommunications System, TLETS, consists of a distributed software application and secure network services.  TLETS is provided to over 100,000 Criminal Justice employees, through over 8,800 directly defined workstations and 40,000 devices defined to city and county systems that interface with TLETS.  DPS strives to make TLETS available 24x7x365.  The core component of TLETS is a store and forward message brokering system that ensures safe, secure delivery of content being transmitted throughout the system.

TCIC Full Access (3802) September 22 23, 2011

Designed for TERMINAL OPERATORS who perform all NCIC/TCIC functions; including inquiry, entry, modification, clearing cancelling and III functions. Operators must receive this training within the first six months of assignment or employment, regardless of whether these duties are performed on a full-time or part-time basis. In order to comply with federal requirements, operators must retest within two years of certification or most recent recertification date.

TCIC Less Than Full Access (3807) September 22, 2011

Designed for operators who perform NCIC/TCIC functions at any level lower than full access. Generally, this pertains to inquiry only, including mobile digital terminal (MDT) users. Operators must receive this training within the first six months of assignment or employment. In order to comply with federal requirements, operators must retest within two years of certification or most recent recertification date.
